Zephyr
Zephyr plays old and new Celtic and folk music. The trio, comprised of some of Charleston’s favorite musicians: Karin McQuade on fiddle and
vocals, Susan Conant on flutes, whistles, and vocals, John Holenko on
guitar and mandolin, and Mathew Masie on percussion. They combine
tight instrumental and vocal arrangements that showcase their versatile musicianship. Karin sings in both English and Gaelic, Susan plays both silver and wooden flutes as well as a variety of whistles, John Holenko plays guitar and octave mandolin, and Matt plays bodhran, bones, spoons, and any other percussion instrument he can find. From ethereal ballads to up tempo jigs, reels and beyond, Zephyr will take you from contemplative reverie to toe tapping dance rhythms in the course of an evenings entertainment.
