Blue Plantation Band Wedding Trio
Blue Plantation is an acoustic string band with a diverse variety of authentic musical styles. These styles include Bluegrass, Irish, Folk, Country, Swing, and Jazz. They have created their own niche market and specialize in Wedding Ceremonies, Cocktail Hours, Dinner Rehearsals, Oyster Roasts, Corporate Events, Festivals, Private Parties, Family Functions, Birthday's, Restaurants, and Local Music Venues. The band is made up of four musicians with a wide background of musical experience and a high level of expertise. The band is hard-working and has been performing together for 17 years in the Charleston, SC area.
Aaron Gdovicak - Guitar, Banjo, Mandolin, Vocals
Aaron is from Amherst, Ohio and the founding member of the band. He's been playing professionally for 25 years and with Blue Plantation since it's formation. With his years of music study and training, Aaron lays up a solid wall of sound and brings a blues/jazzy sound to the band. Some of his major influences include Doc Watson, Chet Atkins, Bryan Sutton, David Grisman, Mike Dowling, Tony Rice, Joe Pass, Pete Wernick, and Russ Barenberg.
Bob Sachs - Mandolin, Guitar, Vocals
Bob is originally from Northern Virginia and currently resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC. A veteran performer since 1980 he has played in 38 states & multiple international destinations. Bob brings a unique style of playing to a wide variety of audiences.He has performed at Bluegrass and Country music festivals all over the United States including the prestigious Boston Folk Festival and Telluride Bluegrass Festival. His career includes an 11 year stint with the nationally acclaimed group Southern Rail, over 25 years with South Carolina Heritage artist Roger Bellow, performances and recordings with country star David Ball, country music veterans Don Helms (who played with Hank Williams Sr.) and Gordon Terry, Jimmy Buchanan, Melba Montgomery, and many others. He is an award winning mandolinist and has been called “A wizard of the mandolin” by Virginia Public Radio.
Marci Shore - Fiddle, Guitar, Vocals
Originally from King, NC, Marci started playing Fiddle & Guitar as a teenager. She was greatly influenced by her Old Time Music playing Uncles as well as by modern Bluegrass artists like Tony Rice, Mark O'Connor, New Grass Revival, and The Nashville Bluegrass Band. Marci is also more recently involoved in writing original music and performing as a Singer / Songwriter.
