Hazel KetchumHazel
Ketchum is a lutenist, guitarist and singer who received her masters of
Music degree from the University of
Southern California. Hazel is a member
of the group Sonus, in which she sings and plays a variety of early
instruments, including lutes, saz and percussion. In addition to art music,
Hazel writes songs and has her own
group, an Irish/Old time band called the Hungry Monks.
Hazel's latest CD is called "Big as the World" and is dedicated to
children's music. Hazel teaches piano, guitar,
voice and songwriting at her studio, Hungry
Monk Music, and at schools,
libraries
and bookstores throughout the Southeast.
Hazel has been Artist-in
Residence at the Cuyahoga Park in Ohio,
teaching and performing Celtic and American music. Hazel plays concerts for
campers, formal house concerts, outdoor concerts and at the train stations.
Hazel also has recorded with and accompanies Na Fidleiri, a young peoples
fiddle
orchestra that plays traditional Irish songs and dances. |
